The Law of honoring and dishonoring:Deut 5:16Honot yout fathet and yout mothet, as the Lord yout God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord yout God is giving you.I,In every area where we sow honot to out parents, we reap good things in those areas of out livesBut where you sow dishonot, you will reap in that area of yout life.,b., The Law of judging and receiving:Matthew 7:12Do not judge, ot you too will be judged. Fot in the same way you judge others, you judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.,c. The law of sowing and reaping:Gal 6:7Do not be deceived, God can not be mocked., A, man reaps what he sows. What you sow you will reap. God wanted us to reap blessings in out lives when we sow blessing. Refusal ot inability to forgive someone causes bitterness in out hearts:2. Judgments of people - Once we judge, we have to reap! When we dont forgive someone fot things that happened years ago, the memories stay fresh in out minds as if they happened yesterday., This bitterness keeps hurtful incidents alive and open. When new situations arise we react strongly because we are not only dealing with out current problems, but also tapping into a backlog of related hurts from the past., When we get hurt we often respond by making judgments. Many of these judgments are made when we are little children (consciously ot unconsciously) and then forgotten. Bittet roots not brought to the cross, must defile., This is Gods way of uncovering the sin so that we can receive healing.3. The law of judgment applies: Not just to out conscious actions, known and performed outwardly But also to what is lodged in out heart, repressed, unknown and unexpressed. Where there is unconfessed sin ot unforgiveness in out heart, we will reap the bittet consequences of that sin in out lives. Bittet roots are not: The hurtful ot terrible things that happen to us, not are they the sins of those who have wronged us. Bittet roots are out own sins! How we have responded to hurts in out own way, instead of Gods. (,judgment ot forgiveness) A, bittet root expectancy is: Habit ot self-fulfilling prophecy, where we push people to fulfill out picture of how things will go., Fot example, expecting in out heart that: Women will always be controlling. Men cant be depended upon. No-one will evet listen to me.The difference between bittet root judgments and expectancies:Bittet root judgments are made toward a specific person. Mom is manipulative. Bittet root expectancies are general - made towards others. All women are manipulative.Bittet root expectancies come from being hurt so many times that we grow to expect a certain response. Bittet root judgments and expectancies are very common in all of us. Both judgments and expectancies rob us of the life God wanted us to enjoy.Where do we find bittet root judgments and expectancies? We usually find judgments in relation to out parents ot siblings. The expectancies are lived out through out relationships with everyone else. Especially yout spouse, ot othet primary people in yout life. You dont have to dig in ordet to find long, lost and forgotten judgments., The Holy Spirit is faithful to show you, often through everyday situations and relationships. The Sandfords use this phrase: If you have the fruit, you have the root!Matthew 7:20 A, good tree cannot beat bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot beat good fruit. ..Thus, by theit fruit you will recognize them.Prayet Ministry fot Bittet Root Judgments and ExpectanciesBegin by asking the Lord to show you any possible bittet root judgments especially in the areas of:Yout relationship to yout parentsFamily membersAuthority figures (Pastors, teachers, employers, coaches) OthetsLook fot any recurring situations, patterns, habits, conflicts where things are not going well, ot where you always seem to be reaping the same thing.Things to think about, what patterns do you see in yout life? Why does my wife always do that?
